Here's A Damaged Leather Couch I've Repaired And Refinished
Here's an example of what can be done with faded, damaged leather furniture.
This damaged leather couch arrived at my workshop one day. The owner was shifting house and in the process, the movers accidently scuffed the front edge of the seat cushion. Apparently, another piece of furniture was dragged up against it.
Now, as you can imagine, the owner was devastated! That's when I got the call for help.
When the couch arrived, I pointed out that I could easily repair the damage and make it disappear, but why not, at the same time, refinish the leather it back to its original colour because it was looking rather faded in certain areas.
Yes, I can match the repair to the faded colour but I wanted to point out how I could achieve the best end result.
After all, if you were moving to a new house, wouldn't it be nice to have your leather furniture looking like new instead worn and tired?
Well, the go-ahead was given without hesitation and I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
The couch was thoroughly cleaned, the gash repaired and then I colour matched to blend in with the original.
When the owner came to pick it up, she was absolutely delighted!
Now, that's what we like to hear!
